The Obligation of Zakaah on the Wealth of Children and the Insane:
`Umar (radiyallaahu `anhu) said: “Trade with the orphan’s wealth so that it will not be consumed by Zakaah.”

`Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Al-Qaasim narrated from his father that he said: “`Aa’ishah (radiyallaahu `anhaa) used to take care of me and another orphan in her house, and she used to pay the Zakaah from our wealth.”

Naafi` narrated that Ibn `Umar (radiyallaahu `anhumaa) used to take care of the wealth of an orphan and he used to pay its Zakaah.

Jaabir (radiyallaahu `anhu) said regarding the man who is entrusted with the wealth of an orphan: “He should pay its Zakaah.”
