Times at which Salaah is Prohibited:
`Uqbah ibn `Aamir Al-Juhanee (radiyallaahu `anhu) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) used to forbid us from praying or burying our dead at three times; when the sun begins to rise till it is fully up, when the sun is at its height at midday till it passes over the meridian, and when the sun draws near to setting till it sets.”
Reported by Muslim (1926).
Ibn `Abbaas (radiyallaahu `anhumaa) narrated from other Companions including `Umar (radiyallaahu `anhu) that: the Prophet (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) forbade them from Salaah after Fajr until the sun rises, and after `Asr until the sun sets.
